Here, we show you how to grow a Kombucha “baby” without a “mother” by using a bottle of kombucha tea. It just has to be unpasteurized and unflavored. This is one method of starting a baby culture. Experiment with other ingredients! let us know how they work out for you. This video is for people who know a little bit about kombucha, so there is less detail. For people who are having difficulty with growing a baby, I sometimes run into times when it doesn’t work. The times that it has been the most successful is when I have grown it in temperatures above 85 degrees. I did one recently where the temp was about a steady 65-70 degrees and nothing happened. So I am going to try to grow it in an incubator box at about 90 degrees and see what happens!
